ME - LACEY - RHYTHM INC.
Learning to take my own advice
When my closest friends are in slumps, it’s always so easy to dish out advice with their best interests in mind. When you’re the one in the situation, it’s substantially tougher to take the advice you would otherwise give your friends. Soooo I’ve compiled a list of general things that I need to remember from time to time:
-Action over words.
-You know what you deserve, don’t settle for less.
-If you’re allowed to do it, he’s allowed to do it. Don’t do anything that you wouldn’t want your person doing.
-You get out what you put in. The biggest risks reap the greatest rewards.
-“Don’t let the distance get the best of you.”
-Focus on school. It’s your only obligation right now.
-Hard work pays off.
-All good things come to those who wait.
-Time heals all things.
-Do everything with purpose.
-Be nice to everyone. You never know what else they’re dealing with in their lives.
-There is always someone who has it worse - Count your blessings.
-Don’t overlook the small things - they add up.
-Tough love is needed sometimes.
-Stop underestimating your own capabilities.
-Speak up when you feel uncomfortable.
-Don’t forget to say please and thank you.
-Don’t say anything you don’t mean.
-It can be awkward without you making it awkward. Handle it gracefully.
-If you can fix it, don’t worry about it. If you can’t fix it, don’t worry about it. Hakuna matata.
And most importantly,
You were raised by the best to be strong and independent. Don’t act in a way that belittles the kind of person you are.
